In the universe
We classify high-mass stars as
there are great and massive stars.
anything larger than 3M.
Our own sun is a star,
The largest known star is 8M—
and never failing, it guides us
M standing for the mass of the Sun.
along a path we cannot see,
These kind of stars are given names,
a path we attempt to chart
such as Polaris and Betelgeuse.
of the heavens we cannot reach—
They are cool in temperature,
though never ceasing, we try.
which is often surprising.
For we will not relinquish our grasp
But the heat they lack is made up
on the intangible.
in the brilliance of their luminosity.
